April Artist: still Kate Leary!
Kate Leary's wonderful sustainable art will continue to grace Mighty-O's walls in the month of April. But if you came in and saw her art in March, there is still new art for you to see - some of her works sold, so she has replaced them with new ones. You can read more about Kate and her art on her blog.

Mighty-O at Community Fundraising Events in April
Mighty-O supports the local community by donating gift certificates to local non-profit organizations for their fund-raising events. This month, you can find Mighty-O at the following events:
- April 3: Cascade People's Center's Dessert Dash. The Cascade People's Center is a beloved resource for the Cascade community, providing free programs and space, and serving thousands of Seattle residents. With the Cascade neighborhood drastically changing as a result of the South Lake Union development, the Center is a place of consistency and familiarity for thousands of low income and transitioning families who are being pushed out of their neighborhood. Not only is CPC a family and community support center, but it also stands for social and environmental justice in the community.
- April 4: Seattle Pro Musica. Seattle Pro Musica is the Pacific Northwest's premiere choral group and Civic Partner to the City of Seattle. This fund-raising event located at the Overlake Golf and Country Club in Medina. The event includes silent and live auctions, dinner, dancing, and a special performance by the Seattle Pro Musica.
- April 12: Wallingford Matters of the Heart Benefit Dinner and Auction. This annual auction benefits the Wallingford Childcare Center, which has been a foundation of the Wallingford community for over 40 years. They believe in teaching a multi-ethnic curriculum and in a non-violent environment. They are committed to exposing hcildren to a variety of cultures in order to promote understanding and acceptance of differences. Each year the auction provides funding to make improvements to the center and improve the environment for the children. Playground renovation is one of their goals this year.
- April 17: Graham Hill Elementary School Auction. Graham Hill is an elementary school in the Columbia City / Seward Park neighborhood of Seattle where students explore, experiment, discover, create, and learn about themselves and the world around them. Funds raised at their auction will be used to provide necessary programs that the school district does not currently budget for such as the Powerful Writers Program, Reading Tutors, Artist in Residence, Discover Dance, and Music.
- April 17: Youth in Focus. Youth in Focus is a nationally recognized arts and mentoring program that empowers urban teens to experience their world in new ways through photography. They offer a variety of photography classes, service learning opportunities, and entrepreneurial projects for youth ages 13-19. Their annual auction is an inspiring event that offers a wonderful combination of fine art professional photography plus the work of their students and auction items from local businesses and organizations.
